SPEAKERS
 Doug Reeves, Chairman of the Leadership and Learning Center as our kick-off keynote speaker at our Fall Conference, September 26 - 28 at the Grand Traverse Resort. He will help us take the next step forward focusing on the practical "how-tos" of providing administrative leadership and support to promote student achievement for all.
 Joyce Fouts, Ed.D. is the Executive Director of the Galileo Leadership Consortium in Southeast Michigan's Tri-county area. Joyce will work with a team of teacher leaders in her presentation to share lessons learned on how to nurture teacher leaders in your schools, offer practical examples of best practices, discuss the role of action research, and give examples of how to develop professional learning communities that are active, healthy, and supportive.
 Michael
P. Flanagan, State Superintendent of Public Instruction,
will provide updates on policy and initiatives through the Department of Education and insights into what the future holds for educators in Michigan. As a former superintendent, ISD superintendent, and executive director of MASA and MAISA, Mike's perspective draws from these experiences that he shares in common with you. He joins MASA at the conference to hear what superintendents share with him as much as to provide his information to members.
 Comedian Bruce Wade will join us for Friday morning’s keynote. He promises to offer more than just a good laugh, however. Bruce and his team members will help close the conference with a humorous, yet poignant view of the work we do as district leaders: the challenges, the joys, and the ways to stay sane in a sometimes crazy world.

Take I-75 north through Saginaw, until you reach M-72. Go
west on M-72 at the Grayling exit, then approx. 30-35 miles
through Kalkaska into Acme. Go north on US-31 about 1/2 mile.
Resort will be on the east (rt.) side of the road.

Indianapolis:
Take US-31 north to 80/90. Go east on 80/90 to US-131. Continue
north to M-72. Go west on M-72 approx. 15 miles. Go north
on US-31 about 1/2 mile. Resort will be on the east (rt.)
side of the road.

Take route 27 north to exit 254 this exit will turn into M-72.
Go west on M-72 approx. 35-40 miles. Go north on US-31 about
1/2 mile. Resort will be on the east (rt.) side of the road.

Cherry Capital Airport:
Take Airport Access Road north through the light to US-31
and turn right (north). Go north on US-31 approximately 10
minutes to the intersection of US-31 and M-72. Continue through
the light and the resort will be on the right side of the
highway.
