| MASA’s
department of Government Relations is responsible for promoting
the beliefs and priorities of the MASA membership and the
MASA Legislative Committee to state and federal legislators.
The MASA department of Government Relations enables MASA membership
by allowing access to pertinent legislative information in
a timely manner.
Our
online presence serves many purposes for MASA members. By
posting essential information, members stay informed of key
developments coming out of the Capitol. Our site also empowers
members to contact policy makers and make a difference! Found
below are many tools and resources to help map out the legislative
process.
Legislative
Action Network (LAN) – The LAN is MASA’s
online grassroots advocacy tool that allows members to get
involved in the legislative process and contact their legislators.
Legislative
Updates – Weekly summaries of legislative
issues, happenings, and action. These updates are produced
weekly when the legislature is in session.
Legislative
Committee – The MASA Legislative Committee
is made up of representatives of each MASA region. Follow
the Events link for meeting times

Issues and Talking Points
Miss the
March MASA/MASB Legislative Relations Networking day? You

legislative issues and use key talking
points to communicate with your local representatives.

SAPAC
(School Administrators Political Action Committee)
– SAPAC is a political action committee designed to
raise funds to enable MASA to support and attend legislators’

supporters in the Legislature. Friendly relationships and
greater access to legislators will lead to more opportunities
to influence education and tax policy.

Relations Network (LRN) Conference – Register
today for the premiere legislative event, co-sponsored by
MASB and MASA. The LRN conference, March 15 at the Lansing
