Conferences & events

Each year members are invited to join us at the Fall and Mid-winter conferences. In addition, MASA sponsors special events including the New Superintendents’ Conference, Legislative Days, Drive-ins, Webinars, and Board-Superintendent Workshops. Topics address current and controversial issues in education.

  • Speaker presentations and video highlights are now available online for the 2006 Fall Conference. If you didn’t get to see it, don’t miss hearing from your colleagues about what they took away from conference around our three focus areas: Raising student achievement, inspiring your team for continual improvement, and taking care of yourself. There is some real wisdom—and a little fun—that you won’t want to miss!
  • Check out our upcoming Webinars, including a 4-part series targeted specifically for superintendents in their first or second year on the job.

Focus, focus, focus, focus on student achievement…. There will always be distracters…but you have to make student learning part of the system you have in place. It has to be what you talk about at board meetings. It’s what you talk about at administrative meetings. It’s what you read about in your spare time. And you have to get the other stuff done as quickly and as efficiently as possible so you don’t let it burden you to the point you can’t focus on our real business, which is moving student achievement ahead.”
