The Livingston Education Service Agency and the Washtenaw Intermediate School District have now joined hands in an effort to improve student achievement. This past spring, the two boards of education approved a one-year, renewable agreement to share a director of instructional services, along with several programs, after studying a similar arrangement between the Clinton and Shiawassee ISDs. Services began this fall. "The ability to leverage available resources through shared services is more critical now than ever before," LESA Superintendent Scott Menzel said. "The partnership ... allows us to maximize available resources in our continuing efforts to improve educational opportunities for all students." Washtenaw ISD Superintendent William Miller added, "We were created to deliver high-quality, relevant, cost-effective and timely instructional and achievement assistance to our member districts and their students. This is one more means to accomplish our mission." Source: Daily Press & Argus 12.12.07
