Renewable Energy Workshop

Thursday, March 6, 2008 • LCC West, Lansing • 8:45 am - 4:00 pm • Agenda

Energy costs continue to rise and all of us are looking to be more efficient while reducing our impact on the environment. One area many districts are discussing is the application of renewable energy. Many districts are talking about renewable energy, but lack the information needed to make a good decision.

Is a renewable project practical? What types of renewable energy are available and how effective are they? What do they cost???

MSBO’s Renewable Energy Workshop will answer these questions and much more. Hear from experts in this growing industry, along with districts that have already implemented renewable energy projects.

This workshop is for School Board members, Superintendents, Business Managers, Facilities Directors and anyone with an interest in renewable energy for schools.

You’ll gain knowledge about:

Current State of Energy – Where are costs going? What is the status of renewable energy in Michigan? What about training available to participate in the renewable energy industry?

Technology & Energy Efficiency – Technologies continue to improve in the area of energy efficiency. These technologies allow for significantly reducing energy consumption. We will discuss current and future opportunities in this area, along with focusing on renewable options that are available.

Economics of Renewable Strategies – Learn how to calculate paybacks and return on investments considering different options.

Projects That Work – Panel of district representatives describing the projects they have implemented.
