This set of two workshops, sponsored by the University of Michigan International Institute explores the rich interactions resulting from commercial ties, historically and into contemporary times, of the exchange network that has linked East and Centra Asia with the Mediterranean world via the Silk Road . All presentations will address current grade-level content expectations.

Part One: Musicscape—Music and Culture of Kazakhstan and Central Asia
