| School districts are required to report the percentage of eighth grade students meeting the state’s definition of technology literacy in the Michigan Electronic Grants System (MEGS) by June 30, 2008. A new requirement in this year’s report is to indicate the assessment that was used to determine the technology literacy. The Regional Educational Media Centers (REMC), in collaboration with the Michigan Department of Education and the Michigan Association for Computer Users in Learning (MACUL), have created a 8th Grade Technology Literacy Requirement website with resources to assist school districts in meeting this requirement. For assistance with technology planning, visit http://techplan.org. School district personnel are also encouraged to contact their local REMC for assistance.
