Statewide CEO group Business Leaders for Michigan is calling on voters to query candidates on key issues facing Michigan—and is providing the questions.
The group this week released a list of 10 questions it wants voters to ask gubernatorial and legislative candidates. It is publicizing the questions through a radio campaign.
The questions arise from the group's plan to improve the state's economy. Topics include the state budget, state and school employee compensation, sharing and consolidation of government and school services, state corrections costs, tax structure reform, entrepreneurism, and investment in areas like higher education, roads and communities.
“The 10 questions are meant to help voters more critically probe candidates' positions on the issues of most concern to Michiganders, which are growing the economy and creating jobs,” said Doug Rothwell, president and CEO of Business Leaders, in a statement.
The questions will be posted at www.michiganturnaroundplan.com, the website for the group's strategy.
